SSI DIVE guide      $2000 (MIN. DURATION 2 WEEK)

Become an SSI dive professional by completing the SSI Dive guide course.
This course usually takes between 1-2 weeks to complete after which you will become an SSI professional and able to guide certified divers.

During the SSI Dive Guide course you will learn how to handle groups of divers under water, emergency situations, guide specialty dives and work in different conditions and environments.
While you hone your skills and learn the fundamentals of how to become a successful and safe dive professional you can enjoy unlimited island dives on our many dive sites. 

By the end of the SSI Dive Guide course you will be ready to start working as a dive professional and guiding recreational dives!

INCLUDES:

PREREQUISITES:

  • Stress and Rescue Diver certification (or equivalent)

  • Current First aid and CPR

  • 40 logged dives

  • 18 years old

  • Recent commercial dive medical

We also recommend that you have experience diving with nitrox, night, deep and boat diving. This can be done through us during course.

SSI DIVEMASTER PROGRAM

If you would like to spend an extended period on a tropical Magnetic Island while learning how to work in the dive industry then our internship is perfect for you.

The SSI Divemaster course is a great place to begin your professional diving career. At Pleasure Divers Magnetic Island we offer you the opportunity to be part of our team to get as much experience within the dive industry as possible. During your course we will guide you through the science of diving specialty, workshops, sales training, gear maintenance, the dive guide course and much more.

Our SSI Divemaster course will integrate you as part of our team during your time on the island. By spending your days working alongside the dive team you will not only earn the dives you need but learn the true fundamentals of what makes the dive industry tick. You will be helping out with guiding certified divers, Open Water students, continuing education students, sales and general maintenance to get a broad foundation for future work. On completion of your course you will be able to guide dives, assist with dive courses and conduct various SSI programs independently . During your SSI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems. You put this knowledge into action through a series of practical training exercises and workshops. Knowledge development covers topics ranging from dive theory, assisting student divers in training to physics.

During the internship you will become a valued member of the Pleasure Divers team while learning the ins and outs of working in the dive industry. During the first month we will train you up to rescue diver level and ensure you are familiar with all the local dive sites. The next two months are focused on you becoming a dive professional both in the water and in the classroom.

After the internship we will assist you with finding a job within the dive industry or help you to become an SSI instructor.

SSI assistant instructor     $2300

SSI Assistant Instructor is the last step before becoming a Scuba Instructor. This course will prepare you to start teaching people how to dive.

We go through classroom presentations, fine tune and perfect your skills and allow you to develop your own teaching style..

The course can be done intensively over 4 days or spread out over 4 weeks. We focus on getting you ready for your Instructor Training Course (ITC). 

All of our Assistant Instructor's are ready to become instructors on completion of this course. Our Instructor Trainer’s focus on professionalism and safety when going through this course.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Divemaster (any agency)

  • Current First aid and CPR

  • Recent commercial dive medical

  • 75 dives upon completion
